There are several ways to get to the surrounding areas of Mt. Fuji (yes, surrounding areas, because if you actually want to get to the top of Mt. Fuji, you better be ready to hike): tour buses, shinkansen but I'm a cheapskate, so I chose to book my trip via Highway Bus. I am not afraid of the language barrier and end up saving about 60€ so why not!
The Highway Bus website is pretty intuitive but I was having some difficulty in the beginning.
First, of course, let's access the Highway Bus website: https://highway-buses.jp/ .
This should be the screen you come up with - just put Tokyo on the first drop-down menu and Yamanashi on the second one and hit 'Search'.

I have selected from Shibuya to Kawaguchiku Station. You can either choose to depart from Shibuya or Shinjuku. I chose Shibuya, simply because it is closer to the place where I'm going to stay at. Kawaguchi Lake is the best spot to take pictures of Mt. Fuji, and the best overall spot to appreciate how huge it is.
Now, this is the part where I got confused. Instead of just choosing the schedule you need, every bus number has a different schedule, so what you need to do is to press 'Select' on the 'Normal' 'Seat Type' section of the bus that corresponds to your desired schedule. I am on bus nr. 2031, at 7h30, going outbound and returning on 2034 at 17h20. This would be my recommended schedule for a nice day trip.
Next thing to do is to choose what type of seating you want. This is amazing cause I know I want to be catching every single detail of the Japanese motorways and surroundings, so I will be seating on a front window seat.
Make sure to select the 'Round Trip' option, as it makes it easier to book your return trip. Unless you choose to come back through different means of transportation or just choose to stay there (for some reason).
Now, just input your personal details.
The overall price for both outbound and return is 4,000 Yen, which is about 34,50€, give or take depending on the market's fluctuations.
Now just input your credit card details et voilá! All you need to do is to print your tickets and you are good to go.

Esta é, muito provavelmente, a próxima janela que vos vai aparecer - basta por Tokyo no primeiro espaço e Yamanashi no segundo e clicar em 'Search'.
Escolhi Shibuya para Kawaguchiku Station. Podem escolher partir de Shibuya ou Shinjuku. Escolhi Shibuya, simplesmente porque é mais perto do sitio onde vou ficar a pernoitar. O Lago Kawaguchi é o melhor sítio para tirar fotos do Mt. Fuji, bem como o melhor sítio para apreciar a grandeza do mesmo.
Agora basta escolher as datas e definições preferidas. Podem escolher as paragens como eu os escolher à vossa preferência.
Foi aqui que fiquei um pouco confuso. Em vez de apenas escolhermos o horário, cada número (do autocarro) tem um horário diferente. Portanto, o que precisam de fazer é clicar 'Select' na categoria 'Normal' 'Seat Type', no autocarro que corresponde ao horário pretendido. Eu escolhi o autocarro Nº 2031, às 7H30, na ida e na volta escolhi o 2034 às 17h20. Este seria o horário que aconselho para uma visita agradável de 1 dia.
O próximo passo é escolher o tipo de lugar. Isto é excelente, porque eu já sei que vou querer absorver todos os detalhes das estradas japonesas bem como tudo à volta, logo irei escolher um lugar na frente do autocarro e no lado da janela.
Não se esqueçam de escolher a opção 'Round Trip', pois torna a marcação da viagem de volta mais fácil. A não ser que escolham voltar por outro meio de transporte ou ficar por lá (por alguma razão).
Agora, basta colocar a informação pessoal necessária.
O preço para ambas as viagens de ida e volta é 4,000 Yen, que é cerca de 34,50€, mais coisa menos coisa, dependendo das flutuações dos mercados.
Agora basta por os dados do cartão de crédito et voilá! Basta imprimir os bilhetes e estarão preparados para a vossa viagem ao Mt. Fuji.
