The "Rota Vicentina" Trail / A Rota Vicentina

A couple of weeks ago I decided to take on the journey and challenge that is the Rota Vicentina in Portugal - after having traveled to the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands and Belgium, I decided that my own country provided an amazing adventure in the Fishermen's Trail, which could feed my wanderlust cravings for a while.
The Fishermen's Trail and Historical Route which make the Rota Vicentina, go through some of the most beautiful seaside and countryside sceneries Portugal has to offer. It goes along the southwestern coast of Portugal and runs from Santiago do Cacém, about 150KM from Lisbon and goes all the way to Sagres in the Algarve.
It is called Rota Vicentina because the is a marked trail for people to go through, and about 450km of it. You can either take the more famous Fishermen's Trail, which you can only approach on foot or the more extensive Historical trail which you can also do on a bicycle or you can do what I did and just mix and match - I started on the Historical Trail in Santiago do Cacêm but changed to the amazing Fishermen's Trail in Porto Covo(where it starts), which led to a total of about 250KM.
The trail is crazy beautiful and not expensive at all - you can do it for less then 200€ by staying in camping sites and hostels.

Há um par de semanas atrás decidi embarcar na viagem e desafio que é a Rota Vicentina - depois de ter viajado para países como o Reino Unido, França, Holanda e Bélgica, achei que o meu próprio país poderia me dar uma aventura que me saciasse a fome de viajar durante uns tempos.
A Rota dos Pescadores e Rota Histórica, que constituem a Rota Vicentina, atravessam das melhores paisagem de campo e à beira mar que Portugal tem para oferecer. Começa em Santiago do Cacém. que fica a 150KM de Lisboa. e acaba em Sagres no Algarve.
É chamada de Rota Vicentina pois existem trilhos marcados que se estendem por cerca de 450KM. Pode-se optar pelo Trilho dos Pescadores, à beira mar, ou o mais extensivo Trilho Histórico. Ou podem fazer como eu e misturar ambos - Comecei no Trilho Histórico mas em Porto Covo mudei para o trilho dos pescadores(é onde o mesmo começa); acabei por fazer mais ou menos 250KM a pé.
O trilho é extremamente bonito e não é nada cara - podemos fazê-lo por menos de 200€ ficando em parques de campismo e hostels.
